Start CheckFrequently asked questions about Xiaomi eSIM compatibility
Xiaomi phones have limited eSIM support. Only some international versions (such as Xiaomi 12, 13 Pro international versions) support eSIM. China mainland versions (Xiaomi 14, etc.) do not support eSIM.
International versions of Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 13 Pro support eSIM. Most Redmi series models do not, and Xiaomi 14 China mainland version does not either. Confirm the model is an international version with eSIM support before purchase.
China mainland Xiaomi phones are restricted by policy from supporting eSIM data functionality, with eSIM disabled at both hardware and system levels. Overseas (global) versions of some models support eSIM β confirm the version at the point of purchase.
We recommend: 1) Rent a pocket Wi-Fi device; 2) Buy a physical SIM card at your destination; 3) Activate international roaming. Pocket Wi-Fi is great for multi-user sharing and is the preferred option for Xiaomi users.
Dial *#06# to check if an EID is displayed, or go to Settings > Connection & Sharing > SIM cards to see if there's an Add eSIM option. If no such option exists, the model does not support eSIM.
