About eSIM activation timing, methods, and troubleshooting
eSIM activates automatically upon arriving at the destination and connecting to the local network. Installation does not activate or start billing immediately. The eSIM only officially activates and starts counting its validity period when your phone reaches the destination coverage area, enables data roaming, and connects to the local carrier network.
In most cases, no manual operation is needed. After arriving at the destination, simply ensure data roaming is enabled for the eSIM in settings, and your phone will automatically search and connect to the local carrier network. If it doesn't connect automatically, you can manually select a carrier in settings.
Typically within 1-2 minutes after activation. Once your phone connects to the local carrier network, open a browser or any app to confirm the connection. If there's still no signal after 5 minutes, try restarting your phone and retry.
You can install the eSIM and check if the configuration is successful before departure, but actual activation (billing start) requires connecting to the destination network. We recommend installing before departure and enabling roaming upon arrival — no extra operation needed.
Common causes include: data roaming not enabled, not in the destination coverage area, or phone system version too old. Please confirm data roaming is enabled in settings, you've arrived at the destination, and your system is up to date. If activation still fails, contact customer service for technical support.
About obtaining eSIM QR codes, installation steps, and multi-device usage
After purchasing an eSIM plan, the QR code will be sent to you via email. You'll receive a confirmation email within 5 minutes of successful payment, containing the eSIM QR code and detailed installation instructions. We recommend saving a screenshot of the QR code for offline use.
Ensure the QR code image is clear and complete, with no obstructions or reflections. Try zooming in on the QR code image and scanning in a well-lit environment. If scanning still fails, contact customer service for a manual activation code or a re-sent QR code.
No. One eSIM configuration can only be installed on one device. Once installed, the configuration is bound to that device. To use on another device, contact customer service for a new eSIM configuration (unactivated plans can be re-issued for free).
Yes. eSIM and physical SIM cards can coexist, enabling dual SIM dual standby. You can keep your physical SIM for calls and texts while using eSIM for data. You can manage which card is used for data, calls, etc. in phone settings.
The eSIM configuration file is very small (typically just a few KB) and won't affect your phone's storage space at all. The eSIM chip itself is part of the phone's hardware and doesn't occupy additional storage.
About refund conditions, process, and crediting time
Yes. Full refunds are supported before the eSIM is activated. Simply contact customer service before activation with your order number, and we'll process the refund within 3 business days, returned to your original payment account.
Activated eSIMs are not eligible for refunds, as the carrier has already started providing network service. However, if compatibility issues prevent usage (after passing the compatibility check), we offer a full refund or alternative solution.
Refund review is usually completed within 1 hour, and the refund arrives within 3 business days. We support Alipay, WeChat Pay, and major credit cards for original payment method refunds. The exact time may vary slightly depending on bank processing speed.
Yes. If installation fails and customer service technical support cannot resolve the issue, we offer a full refund or free re-issuance of the eSIM configuration. We recommend contacting customer service first — most installation issues can be resolved with guidance.
About phone model support, unlock status, and alternatives
iPhone XS, iPhone XS Max, iPhone XR and all newer models support eSIM. iPhone 13 and newer support dual eSIM (dual SIM dual standby without a physical card). Mainland China version iPhones do not support eSIM — please confirm your phone version.
Some Android flagship phones support eSIM, including Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer, Google Pixel 3 and newer, OPPO Find X3 and newer, and more. Due to the many Android brands, we recommend using our compatibility checker to confirm specific models.
Yes. iPad Pro, iPad Air, and iPad (7th gen and newer) support eSIM, suitable for using cellular data while traveling. Apple Watch GPS+Cellular also uses eSIM and can pair with iPhone for cellular network.
If your phone doesn't support eSIM, you can choose: 1) Rent a portable WiFi device; 2) Buy a physical SIM card at the local airport or convenience store; 3) Activate international roaming with your home carrier. See alternative options in our help center.
If your phone was purchased through a contract, it may be carrier-locked. Contact your carrier to confirm if it's unlocked. Only unlocked phones can use other carriers' eSIMs. Some carriers support online unlock requests, typically taking 1-3 business days.
